Terms of service
Plain terms. Where the law in your country gives you more than this page says, the law wins.

1. The service
Parlessa provides recorded language-practice labs and related features on parlessa.com, app.parlessa.com and its mobile apps (the "Service"). The Service is provided by the operator named on the privacy page ("we"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.
2. Accounts
You can use the first lab without an account. An account requires an email address and is created by a sign-in link; there is no password. You are responsible for keeping access to that mailbox. You must be 16 or older. One person per account; do not share sign-in links.
3. Free and paid plans
The first unit of every level is free. Paid plans (annual and monthly, and the founding offer during beta) give access to the whole catalogue and the features listed on the pricing page for the paid period. Prices are shown in US dollars on the web and in local currency in the app stores; taxes are added or included as the checkout says. Plans renew automatically until cancelled. Web purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; their terms apply to the payment. App-store purchases are governed by Apple's or Google's terms.
4. Cancelling and refunds
Cancel at any time from the account page; access continues to the end of the paid period. Refunds: 14 days, no questions, for web purchases; app-store purchases are refunded by the store. The full refund policy is part of these terms.
5. What you may do
Use the labs for your own learning, on any number of your own devices. Download labs for offline use within the app. Share links to free labs and to the daily drill freely.
6. What you may not do
Copy, redistribute or resell the recordings, worksheets or lab text; scrape the catalogue; circumvent access controls; use the Service in a way that harms it or other learners; or use it for anything unlawful. Educational institutions wishing to license labs for classes should write to us.
7. Content
The labs, recordings, worksheets, syllabus and site are ours or licensed to us. Your progress data is yours; we hold it to run the Service and you can export or delete it at any time. Flags and feedback you send us may be used to fix and improve the labs without payment or credit.
8. Changes to the Service
The catalogue grows and, rarely, a lab is revised or withdrawn to correct an error. We may require an app update to keep running. We may change these terms; material changes are emailed to signed-in users 14 days before they apply. If you disagree, cancel and you will be refunded the unused part of the paid period.
9. Warranty and liability
We work hard to keep the French correct and the Service available, and we do not promise a learning outcome. To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided as is, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.
10. Disputes
Write to us first; almost everything is resolved by email within a week. These terms are governed by the law of the operator's country of registration (to be named before launch), without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in. EU consumers may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
